Gift Guide: Style Seeker
Uh, oh. I’ve gone and done it again! We’re one week away from leaving for the South of France for the winter holidays and despite all of my best intentions this year (like making a list of everyone I have to buy a present for way back in November) I have managed to only find a couple of Christmas gifts so far. So… when do I start to panic?
I don’t think I’m exaggerating here, with most retailers’ deadline for online orders around December 18th, I need to either find those presents online stat and hope they get shipped and delivered in time, or magically find some extra days to take off work and go to the shops in person, which let’s face it, is never going to happen.
One way or another, I am not showing up home empty-handed and I wouldn’t want to be that annoying family member who suggests a trip to the store (or worse, the mall) a mere two days before everyone comes around to celebrate. There’s so much to do at that time: catching up, cooking together, preparing the guest rooms and putting the final touches to the decorations. I would much rather have my mind at ease with presents already wrapped and waiting patiently in my suitcase, I’m sure you feel the same.
And there’s something else too: I’m not so keen to get gifts that have been offered a thousand times before, or are so clearly from a high street retailer. If you read this blog you will know that I’m always encouraging you to shop local and independent – there are so many more opportunities to find thoughtful, original and creative gifts this way, plus it’s always good to support smaller business owners and makers, don’t you think?
Meet Trouva
If you’re a little late with your Christmas gifts this year, what you need is the perfect balance between convenience, speediness and curation and this is why I will be doing my Christmas shopping exclusively on Trouva these next few days. This is one of my best-kept secrets and I mentioned them among my favourites earlier in the year.
In a nutshell, Trouva is a gorgeous e-commerce platform that gives you access to the best of local independent shops in London and beyond – basically, it’s boutique shopping made easy: gorgeous covetable pieces at your fingertips while supporting small shops AND saving a ton of time because you can browse online, narrowing down by price and theme, with a one-off delivery fee per order and no fuss-returns? That’s pretty much a perfect shopping experience in my book.
I know that you will love Trouva too and that’s why I am sharing not one, but two Christmas gift guides this holiday season exclusively from the great independent shops they feature – don’t forget to tune in tomorrow Tuesday 15th for more picks for the Interiors Lover in your life. Also, some great news: I am also hosting a giveaway for a £50 voucher so you can treat yourself or someone you love this December. I am really excited about this, and I hope you are too!
So, for this first Christmas gift guide, I handpicked pieces that will get any Style Seeker in your life excited. I’m talking about that loved one who is always on the lookout for stylish clothes, statement jewellery and trendy accessories, the one who has her finger on the pulse of fashion.

December 14, 2015I've had my eyes on the aHead Kreafunk headphones for a while now. In fact they're on my Christmas wish list. So I'd have to say that those are my favourite pick from your selection.

December 14, 2015Jesse, you're my go-to for discovering gorgeous and unique new brands! Every shopping post you do, your picks are usually "ooh that's something that's so me!" and "that's not really my style but it's damn cool" and "DAMNIT I WISH I COULD ROCK EFFORTLESS SCANDINAVIAN CHIC." Your taste is on point! x

December 15, 2015Why am I not surprised Emma? :) I remember when we went to that first makers' market in the Old Shoreditch townhouse (was that Fall 2011? dear God) and I had gotten that superb nice bib necklace from Wolf and Moon! Still love the brand, and the Fjord collection is a particular favourite. Thank you for entering! xx
Sinead
December 15, 2015I'm really drawn to that necklace by studioemmaodenkirchen - (another!) one for the wish list!
Jesse
December 15, 2015Hi Sinead, thank you for commenting and entering the giveaway! It's a beautiful necklace it's true, and with how much of a "uniform" I wear at the studio (I'm always in a simple top and jeans or leggings), it's nice to collect those little statement necklaces which will just bring an outfit to life. Minimum effort, maximum impact!
