Sicilian Feast: Evoluzione, Kensington
Last Wednesday at the office I was counting down the minutes to 6pm to grab my coat and dash to West London to attend the launch of the Guest Chef events at Evoluzione, the slick and modern restaurant of Hotel Xenia.
With the exciting promise to take the palates of sophisticated Londoners through a culinary Italian journey from South to North over the next few months, the team was welcoming the first Italian Guest Chef of the series to its kitchen: Michelin star-awarded Pietro D’Agostino.
I met up with fellow Nuffnang bloggers and Zomato foodies Jaime, Jasiminne, Lucy, Hannah, Lucy and Alida and a glass of Prosecco in hand we chatted about all things fine dining and blogging until we were whisked away to our seats for what I can only describe as a Sicilian feast.
Plate after plate of delicate gorgeous food was placed before me, and glasses of Italian wine waltzed in with each new dish from starters to mains to desserts – yes, those are all plurals I’m using. Just look at the below:
King Prawns with onions salad, almond and orange sauce
Seafood Ravioli, capers, wild fennel and pistachio
Turbot with artichoke, calamari and aubergine roasted
This wonder of a dessert, hiding a secret heart of citrus fruits
and this other wonder of praline perfection!
All in all we were treated to no less than seven delicious separate courses, not including welcome appetizers and handmade pastries, and four stunning Italian wines so, will you believe me if I tell you that the evening is priced at £65 a head? Absolute steal! I’m definitely considering heading back, probably in May when my Mom will visit.
The next Italian Guest Chef event will be held on April 21st, and it’s only every six weeks so don’t miss out!
Grab a ticket before they’re all gone.
Evoluzione, Hotel Xenia
Open through the week 12pm to 10.30pm
