10 Wallpapers from Design Love Fest
How was your weekend friends? On Saturday morning, I had a long phone call to catch up with my dad, which doesn’t sound like anything special but deserves to be noted because we’re developing a closeness and friendship as adults that we didn’t really have when I was growing up and it’s really nice. In the afternoon, I pinned a lot of Fall fashion picks which I’ll share in the coming weeks and dived into this blog’s editorial calendar to prepare upcoming posts. In the evening, I caught Gone Girl at the Rio Cinema in Dalston and found the movie pretty good. I hadn’t loved the book so much, but if you’re in the mood for a fast-paced, stylish and smart thriller, I’d definitely recommend seeing it.
On Sunday my flat turned into the studio of the Great British Bake Off as Rob made an ambitious cake for his office competition. It involved white chocolate, raspberries, and mascarpone in a tart-form with a dark chocolate glazing. We also cooked some work lunches for the week including a mushroom risotto and a lime and peanut butter pad thai. The latter I really have to shoot and share with you because it’s so simple to make and reheats really well. Food aside, I caught up with my little sister, Melissa, who is planning to move to Paris. She will be visiting us in London in early November and I’m so excited to have her at the flat. Then there was the obligatory Sunday evening read: I brewed a nice cup of tea and got stuck in Lena Dunham’s Not That Kind of Girl, which is so Lena Dunham it’s not even funny.
So this was my weekend and if you’ve read up to this point, thank you for keeping up with my ramblings! I hope you had a good weekend too and let me know if you’ve kept busy indoors or ventured out despite the rain.
Today I wanted to share all my love for Bri Emery and her blog Design Love Fest, which has been a favourite of mine for a couple of years now. She is an Art Director based in Los Angeles who curates a really stunning blog full of lifestyle, home, diy, food and design content, and she has a pretty kick-ass Pinterest and Instagram to boot, which you can find here and there respectively. It’s always an inspiration to read her.
I always pick my desktop wallpaper from one of the featured designers on Bri’s blog and whenever I’m blogging from a cafe or library and friends stop by to say hello and grab a cup of tea together, they often comment on how cool my backgrounds are. So today, I thought it’d be nice to give credit where it’s due and share some of my favourites from the “Dress Your Tech” series on Design Love Fest. The below have all been my desktop wallpapers at some point and guess what, they’re all FREE to download! Enjoy and let me know if there is one in particular that catches your eye.
Download Beach Ladies by Danielle Kroll

Which ones do you like? The first one “Hustle” is my current desktop background and I love it. Do you already follow Bri’s blog? If not, you really should! I’m sure you will be super inspired. In case you’re wondering, the cover picture of this post is actually from my visit to Hackney Down Studios which you can read all about here if you fancy it – it hosts lots of interesting London creatives and entrepreneurs. Have a lovely start to the week and thank you for reading!

September 17, 2016These are wonderful. They are motivating especially when your desktop wallpaper is the first thing you see when you get to work.
